Wet'n'Wild Sandown Makes for Challenging GT Return
A challenging end to our Sandown weekend in Fanatec GT World Challenge after such a promising start with Garth taking out the AM class pole.
Both races saw very wet conditions, Saturdays race we managed to gain 1 position however Sunday’s race started in diabolical weather and Garth was caught out by a large section of standing water on the circuit, spinning into a gravel trap.
While we dropped a few laps, fortunately there was no damage and we were able to resume, with Mike bringing it home for 5th in the Am class.
The results weren’t what we were aiming for this weekend, but at least the car remains in one piece and we gained some valuable experience and despite the lacklustre results have climbed to tied 3rd in the AM championship.
Bring on the next round at The Bend in October, where hopefully the weather will be a bit nicer
