Entry Confirmed for AMRS Super GT 4 Hour

It has already been a busy start to the year at RAM Motorsport between taking delivery of the new Wolf Tornado and 992 GT3 Cup Cars, however things have kicked up a notch with preparations well underway as Mike Sheargold and Garth Walden are set to once again tackle the AMRS Super GT 4 hour enduro on the 18th and 19th of February.

The duo contested the race last year in the Porsche 991 Gen 1 GT3 Cup Car and managed a respectable top 10 finish in what was only Mike’s second race in the Porsche. However this year the pair are bringing some new machinery having entered the AMG GT3 which arrived late last year and have their sites set a little higher.

“The AMRS 4 hour is a really fun event, we had a blast last year so were keen to contest it again this year,” Sheargold said.

“Elements like the top 10 shootout ad some excitement you don’t get at too many other race meetings throughout the year.

“We managed a top 10 finish last year which I was very happy with, this year with the new car and another years racing under my belt I think a top 5 finish is achievable and who knows it would be great to see if we could jag an outright podium!'“

Walden said the race was a great opportunity to gear up for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia campaign.

“We got some really good experience in the last GT round for 2021 however the 4 hour enduro ticks a lot of boxes for us heading into the full 2022 campaign” Walden said.

“It will give both Mike and myself a chance to do some longer stints in the car and SMP is also a round on the GT calendar so it won’t hurt to get more laps and data around that track.”

Finally with the Enduro Champs back on the agenda for 2022 it will give the whole team a chance to sharpen up the long run race strategy and get pit stop practice.”
